The 2024 China Custom Automotive International Innovation Conference and China International Automotive Modification Exhibition (AIT) took place on October 19 in Dongguan, Guangdong. Hosted by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and Yasen Group, with support from companies like Mengshi Technology, FAW-Volkswagen, Geely Radar, and GAC Trumpchi, the event attracted over 200 participants including government officials, industry leaders, and experts.
The conference highlighted automotive modification policies, innovations, international exchanges, and market trends. Keynote speakers included Ye Dingda, former deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Small and Medium Enterprises Bureau, and Yu Xi, from the Ministry of Public Security’s Road Traffic Safety Research Center, among others.
A closed-door summit invited nearly 40 key industry representatives for in-depth discussions on the challenges and opportunities in the automotive modification sector. Additionally, market forecasts indicated that the China automotive modification market would surpass 200 billion yuan by 2025, growing at an annual rate of over 15%.
During the event, Mengshi Technology, Geely Radar, and other brands shared their experiences, discussing the expansion of new energy vehicles and the growing demand for personalized modifications. Key topics also included overseas market expansion and media marketing strategies for promoting modification culture.
The conference also discussed the ongoing development of automotive modification standards, with 16 proposed standards being initiated to regulate the industry and improve product quality.
Roundtable discussions addressed key industry challenges, such as smart modifications, consumer demands, and cross-border marketing strategies.
